Kia Forte Koup captures company’s first-ever racing win

It’s the first one ever for the company, making it a meaningful and historic moment for Kia Motors in just its second year of involvement in motorsports. The company scored the first racing win in its history last weekend when a Forte Koup won in its Street Tuner class in the Barber 200 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The No. 10 Kinetic Motorsports/Infinity Audio Forte Koup, co-driven by Nic Jonsson and Michael Galati, took the ST class win in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) race, making for a very big feather in the brand’s cap as it continues its rise globally.

    • My guess “Japanese Engine”.

Ori specs Forte also use “Mitsubishi” designed engine.

If use “Korean” engine need more pitstop “Kuat makan minyak” mah!

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 1
      • Kuat makan minyak?…the r-series 2.2 liter engine in the Santa Fe & new Sorento fc is 15km/l…thats better than a civic 2.0 liter …

Jolo, Mitsubishi actually uses Korean engine la…. check your facts, the engine OS developed by Hyundai and cost shared among 4 companies.. Gm, KIA, Hyundai and Mitsubishi

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
      • what an arse…this engine made up by GEMA..its a collaboration between mitsu,hyundai,GM..they build up basic thing like engine block..then MIVEC,CVVT or any other trademark techy thing add up later by the carmaker..do your homework ass hole.dont just bash this koreans and keep on singing song for your unworthy jap cars like honda..pay extra for the badge! XP

Awesome!! Congratulations Kia!! An ace effort.Looks great in racing trim as well.

Have been planning to get my Forte Koup, which will be very soon.I guess this will be the icing on the cake then.

First ever racing win as well, they just bagged the Frost & Sullivan award for the best sedan here yesterday and today,we have this.

Looks like the Koreans are not slowing down one bit in their pursuit for global automotive dominance eventually, given time which i know they will.

Slowly but surely they will claw their presence in any given market.Ace approach i reckon.Very nicely done.Cheers.
