Renault Captur – production vehicle for Geneva debut

Peugeot’s 2008 is set to have Gallic competition in the form of the new Renault Captur. The crossover, which will also make its debut in Geneva, may not be as radical looking as the Captur concept car that provided the inspiration for it, but it’s still a pretty dynamic form.

The Captur, based on the same Alliance B platform as the new fourth-gen Clio, will be produced in Spain at Renault’s plant in Valladolid. Salient points include a striking two-tone colour scheme, a cabin offering a sense of space and inherent practicality as well as a high level of equipment specification.

Available kit will include hands-free entry, hill start assist, a six-speaker entertainment system with audio-streaming and Arkamys hi-fi sound, along with an in-dash Renault R-Link touchscreen multimedia tablet.

The 4.12 metre-long Captur will be available in both petrol and diesel forms – there’s no mention of what’s on, but expect final specification levels to be revealed when the crossover premieres in March.
