It has just been three weeks since Hyundai launched its compact SUV in India, and already it’s flying off the shelves across the country. The Hyundai Creta has registered over 10,000 bookings even before its launch and now, that number has increased to 30,000. This, in turn, has lead to long waiting periods for the vehicle, according to a report by IndianAutosBlog.
The report states that for the most sought-after variant, the automatic diesel Creta, which has a 1.6 litre CRDi VGT turbo engine with 128 PS and 259 Nm of torque, the waiting list has grown to some six to ten months. Hyundai India has boldly billed the Creta as the “perfect SUV.” Looking at the market response, the claim doesn’t look all that ambitious after all.
This has prompting Hyundai to act quickly. The Korean company will be increasing the vehicle’s production from 5,000 to 6,500 units a month to keep up with the hot demand, says Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Hyundai Motors India. The move will effectively cut waiting time by almost two months.
Back here in Malaysia, the Honda HR-V has had a similar response. Last we heard, the compact SUV had collected an astounding 18,027 bookings (up to June 30), with long waiting periods of between four to five months. Now, would the Hyundai Creta would be anywhere near as popular if it’s launched here?

No RV la and no capital H for honda. Crooked fluid h instead and etc. Poor korean cars in malaysia always the last choice for malaysian car fans. SAD

I think hyundai and kia produced better suvs then cars. Look at santa fe and sorento, both very good suv
