SsangYong teases e-SIV electric SUV – Geneva debut

SsangYong has released teasers for a C-segment electric SUV concept that will make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. The e-SIV points to SsangYong’s future direction for mobility, new technologies and product development, according to its maker.

The e-SIV – which stands for Electronic Smart Interface Vehicle – is a strategic model for the brand, and illustrates its approach towards future electric vehicles, connectivity and autonomous driving, the Korean 4×4 specialist says. “The e-SIV will be central in helping to shape the next-generation of SsangYong SUVs and EVs,” it adds.

The e-SIV is based on the design selected for SsangYong’s next generation C-segment SUV. It’s 4,460 mm long and 1,870 mm wide, with a 2,675 mm wheelbase. That’s slightly larger than a current-generation Honda CR-V but smaller than the marque’s latest Rexton, which is a seven-seater SUV.

Not much details on the EV bits, other than that the motor is a 140 kW unit and features fast charging of up to 80% in 50 minutes. SsangYong mentions top speed of 150 km/h and a range of up to 450 km. This is the company’s fifth electric car concept after the KEV1 in 2010, KEV2 (2011), e-XIV (2012), and Tivoli EV-R from Geneva 2015.

All over the world, all car manufacturers are moving towards EV, PHEV and hybrid. Cause they know this is the future.

Only 2 car companies, Perodua and Proton are still sesat. Same like the TV series “LOST”

Malaysians are still waiting for Iriz EV that Proton showcased 5 years ago in 2013.
