Over 50,000 units of the Mitsubishi Xpander have found Malaysian homes since its 2020 launch, solidifying its position as Malaysia’s No 1 non-national MPV for five years straight, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced.

We remain fully committed to supporting your journey, today and for many years to come,” said MMM CEO Takashi Sakamaki.
The car on sale now is the first facelift (which we got in 2024; see the 2026 facelift here). There are two locally-assembled (CKD) variants – the regular RM99,980 Xpander and the RM109,980 Xpander Plus. Both get a 105 PS/141 Nm 1.5 litre 4A91 DOHC MIVEC four-cylinder engine and a four-speed auto. Learn more in our launch report and/or watch our review below.

every product has it lifecycle. MMM relying on xpander itself for volume sales is a bad strategy…. once it reaches it end of its lifecycle, MMM will be out of the arena.
You can say that for a fledging brand, but for a dying one, grab all you can before you go out seems right.
so why are we posting this again? To tell us that Malaysian people are brain dead spending 100k on a car that has 2 airbags and no other safety features in 2025?
