Tesla Malaysia has launched a new Supercharging station located in Pavilion Damansara Heights as it continues to expand its charging infrastructure in the country. The new station is home to four V4 Superchargers, which complement the existing six Destination Chargers already at the location.
With this, Tesla Malaysia now operates a total 16 Supercharging stations (72 Superchargers) and 16 Destination Charging stations (73 Destination Chargers) nationwide. Destination Chargers are AC chargers that differ from Superchargers which provide much faster DC charging.
In its official release, the company also notes that over 9,000 households have participated in the Tesla Home Charging programme and are equipped with a Wall Connector that can deliver up to 21 kW of AC power.
Tesla Malaysia says it remains committed to expanding public charging network moving forward, with plans to install charging stations in locations such as Nexus Bangsar South in Kuala Lumpur, Queensbay Mall in Penang as well as The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor.
A requirement for Tesla’s AP exemption when its approval was secured under the BEV Global Leaders programme in 2023 was that at least 30% of its DC fast chargers (with a minimum of 180 kW) are open to the public, and for use by EVs from other brands from 2025. However this has yet to happen and isn’t mentioned in the latest release.

Why in shopping mall, should install in PLUS highway where everybody travel long distance.
yes right exactly. its idiotic to install fast charger in mall , are tesla expecting car owners to charge for 30 minutes then rush out already?
bcoz tesla owners usually lepak2 at shopping mall… they use other cars for long distance travel
Shopping mall got spare breaker in the Main Switch Board that can cater for the supercharger kW. Easy to tarik a cable from the MSB. Also tnb already supplying 11kV or 33kV supply which is sufficient for supercharger. 180kW is huge, only chillers use such a huge supply.
Want to do it multiple 180kW charger at an R&R need to tarik 11kV supply from dunno where, big contribution fee, need sub station, need switchroom, alot of infra need to do.
Am hoping china carmakers follow suit and take advantage of bev global leaders program instead of depending on type c cronies
Mana ipoh. Bagus lah keep it for tesla only. Don let freeriders like type c companies crony benefit
Why should Tesla open to other brands? Other brands are not building charger network and have the audacity to brag about selling it cheap. Now they want to take advantage of Tesla chargers?
Why should Tesla open to other brands? Because that was part of the agreement with the govt. As part of this agreement, Tesla enjoys AP-free business in MY. So, yes.. Tesla has to open to other brands (30% of their network) because Tesla is enjoying huge cost-savings thanks to the govt. You should ask why is Tesla still not cheaper than the Chinese makes, despite having so much incentives.
This one is not part of the 30%.
because tesla is the only brand who allowed to sell independently in malaysia without local partner. in exchange they have to open certain amount of their chargers for all cars. that was the deal with gomen last time
