Several sections of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) will be closed with traffic diversions in place from 10pm on Saturday, November 8, for the Klang Royal City Marathon 2025 that takes place in the early hours of Sunday, November 9, the highway operator has stated.
The affected stretch involves the route from the Bandar Bukit Raja South interchange to the Assam Jawa interchange, and the temporary closure and diversion is to begin at 10pm on Saturday, and will reopen at 8am on Sunday, November 9, it said in a statement.
The closure along the highway will involve entry ramps from the Grand Sepadu Expressway, Jalan Meru, Persiaran Hamzah Alang, Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR), and Jalan Kuala Selangor. According to the illustration, traffic will be diverted to Persiaran Hamzah Alang towards Meru town and Jalan Meru, for traffic heading towards Klang and Shah Alam, and vice versa.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use the recommended alternative routes, and are reminded to follow the instructions from traffic personnel and police officers stationed at each closure point, the statement from WCE added.
