It was previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (already in right-hand drive form) before getting papped on the PLUS Highway and in Subang Jaya’s SS15. We now thank reader Aaron Ong for these spyshots of a heavily-camouflaged Omoda C7 at the Penang Marriott Hotel.
As the number suggests, the Omoda C7’s an SUV that sits between Omodas 5 and 9. It’s in the C segment and you can think of it as a sister model to the more rugged Jaecoo J7. It was shown in Bangkok in March as a plug-in hybrid (not launched there yet) but in Malaysia in May as an ICE model, so we expect the pure petrol version to be launched here, at least to start with.
In Russia, the ICE Omoda C7 has a 150 PS/275 Nm 1.6 turbo four-cylinder engine, a seven-speed DCT and either front- or all-wheel drive, but other markets should get the full 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque. The PHEV model, which could come later, brings together a 156 PS/220 Nm 1.5 litre turbo four-pot, a 204 PS/310 Nm electric motor, a one-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and an 18.3 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery for a 360 PS/530 Nm total output, a 95 km EV range and a 1,250 km total range.

Omoda C Class?
combine 156 PS 1.5 litre turbo four-pot with a 204 PS electric motor, and total is 360bhp? simple maths right? but in reality its misleading and not the proper way to calculate total output.
I guess the answer to that camouflaged car is not just to tease the C7, but Mimifly used it on her newest single, “Temberang” dance video!
It just released recently.
