LRT users, take note. Rapid KL has announced that the LRT Kelana Jaya Line will have upgrading works done on its signalling system and there will be some downtime. Fortunately, the downtime is only on weekends this month, including the upcoming November 15-16 weekend, where train services will be affected from 6am to 9am in the morning.

The 17 affected stations are Lembah Subang, Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Taman Paramount, Asia Jaya, Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum, Bangsar, KL Sentral, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC and Ampang Park.

On the Subang side, trains will operate as usual from Putra Heights to Ara Damansara, while on the Gombak side, services from Gombak to Damai will be normal – it’s just the middle section that will be closed.

Shuttle buses will be provided with intervals of 10-15 minutes, but Kampung Baru to KLCC gets a van instead. Subject to traffic conditions, of course. Refer to the station officer for the bus boarding and drop-off locations.

  • I was told the previous company that provided the system only wanted about usd 1 million to upgrade the software but mrt decided to ditch them for a entirely new system.
