Following the teaser of it earlier this month, Stellantis Malaysia has now officially confirmed the identity of the new Leapmotor model it’s set to introduce here very soon, announcing that the order books have now opened for the Leapmotor B10.

An indicative price for the all-electric SUV – which was launched in Thailand last month – was also intimated, with the company stating that five-seater, C-segment offering is estimated to be priced between RM110,000 and RM120,000 when it officially launches sometime in December.

Early bird customers can secure their booking with an order fee of just RM80 and enjoy an exceptional launch incentive, and the first 200 customers will receive an exclusive ‘LeapX100’ package, giving 100x returns by offering either a free wallbox charger or complimentary service, and this will be topped up with a very attractive cash rebate, offering a total value of up to RM8,000.

Measuring 4,515 mm long, 1,885 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, the B10 will be offered in two variants for our market. Both will feature the same electric powertrain, which is a single rear motor offering 218 PS (160 kW) and 240 Nm. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of eight seconds and a 170 km/h top speed.

Two CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery sizes are available, a base 56.2 kWh unit that delivers a range of 361 km on the WLTP cycle, and a larger 67.1 kWh pack, which extends the range to 434 km, also WLTP.

In terms of charging, the B10 supports up to 140 kW of DC fast charging on the standard model and 168 kW with the long range battery, with both taking around 20 minutes to charge from 30 to 80%. They will also accept up to 11 kW of AC charging, with a full charge taking six hours and 45 minutes and eight hours respectively.

Customers interested in placing an order for the Leapmotor B10, which will go up against the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and Proton eMas 7 when it arrives, can do so at all authorised Leapmotor dealerships nationwide, or they can register their interest online, here.
