Which variant to buy
Most buyers should take the RM299,073 2WD Long Range. Its RM18,000 step up from the RM281,073 2WD Standard Range brings a 110 kWh battery and 615 km range, versus 94.8 kWh and 535 km, while retaining 315 hp, front-wheel drive and seven seats. The RM335,573 AWD Performance is for buyers who specifically want AWD and 496 hp; it costs RM36,500 more than the Long Range and its quoted range falls to 580 km.

The X9’s strongest case is clear: seven seats and up to 615 km of WLTP range in a large electric MPV. The Long Range has the cleanest specification balance. Price-wise, the entry X9 costs more than the RM269,888 Maxus MIFA 9, but starts below the RM299,000 Denza D9 and RM299,800 Zeekr 009. The AWD Performance is a substantial step up in price for power and traction rather than extra range.
