The 2026 Honda City facelift has been unveiled for the Thailand market shortly after the Indian market debut. The Thai release introduces the hatchback version of the facelift alongside the sedan, which is something we did not see revealed during the Indian market launch since it is not sold there.
The Thai market launch is in the pre-launch phase for now with pre-orders open up to June 30 2026, with the official launch and pricing announcement set for July 1 2026. The Thai marlet’s sedan and hatchback are each offered in four grades: 1.0 Turbo S CVT, e:HEV V, e:HEV SV, and e:HEV RS, wiith the turbo confined to the S while the rest being hybrids.
While India gets a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol (121 PS/145 Nm, CVT or 6MT) as its base engine, the 1.0L VTEC Turbo is a three-cylinder, DOHC 12-valve, 988cc unit producing 122 PS at 5,500 rpm and 173 Nm between 2,000–4,500 rpm, paired with a CVT driving the front wheels, and runs on up to E20.
The e:HEV hybrid uses a 1.5L four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve (1,498cc) Atkinson-type petrol engine making 98 PS at 5,600–6,400 rpm and 127 Nm at 4,500–5,000 rpm. The electric traction motor produces 109 PS (3,500–8,000 rpm) and 253 Nm (0–3,000 rpm), fed by a 1.0 kWh lithium-ion battery (4 modules, 48 cells), with an E-CVT and front-wheel drive.

In my opinion, it doesn’t look that bad, but there’s still something awkward about it especially how the new front end design doesn’t really blend well with the rear styling, particularly on the sedan. The front lighting design also feels a little disconnected from the car’s overall proportions. I think the designer try to make it look like the design was inspired from the Prelude, but it somehow make it doesn’t look like ‘Japanese Design’.
Also the floating screen, from the pictures it seems tilted a bit too far backward, which makes the dashboard layout feel less cohesive visually.
That said, perceptions usually change once the car is seen in the flesh, as road presence and real world proportions often look very different compared to studio photos.
comedy car. you must absolutely hate GWM or Geely to buy this rubbish. If you buy this car vs a Tiggo4 or S70 at that price you better go back to pre-school and redo your education.
Bruv…… He’s just stating his opinion on the product. Why are you hating out of nowhere and implying something he never even said?
he is chit chating with him.
I just hope Honda replaces the LaneWatch system with a proper Blind Spot Monitoring system for the Malaysian market, although it’s probably unlikely considering both the Indian and Thai markets still retain LaneWatch.
Well… One can always hope.
i beg to differ, lane watch is better than chinese 360 cam honda fanboys said.
100k honda city will be smoke by the RM 80k commie S70 with 180hp turbo engine
Macam Saga 1.5L and Myvi 1.5L
better buy perodua qve for 80k developed by smart and competent local grads with 200 hp. Based on sales figure, majority malaysians still hate malaysia product.
S70 is Compact C segment Sedan,
It’s more comfortable and powerful like a VW Jetta 1.4Tsi.
The compact B segment, not same level. Not worth to be compared.
Ppl buy City for fuel efficiency in city drive and proven lasting durability of it’s engine. S70 is neither of that. Turbo engine is never as lasting or durable, a give and take of turbo in exchange for power with small engine. So if anyone loves 180hp cars, they will bomb on the fuel usage side and will never look at small b segment car that excel in fuel efficiency and durability.
Basically it is an Indian car wearing Japan badge. So how’s that Bangsa J?
Malaysians pay 100k for japanese car made in poor India. Malaysians scammed in their own country. B40 cannot even buy entry level cheap indian car… sorry i mean japanese car made in India.
dah mengaku sendiri b40 , just buy a proton saga and be satisifed. b40 so greedy want to drive 100k car?
Malaysia assemble its own city. They are not exact spec as India.
c stay in malaysia and have NRIC, so are they bangsa m or c?
no BSM, no buy
What about the Honda ZRV?
It need to get phev like crv
How about the Honda ZR-V?
India poor dirty third world country can afford better cars than Malaysia. Even Proton is struggling in poor undeveloped 3rd world Afrika. Malaysians are worse than India and Afrika when it comes to car ownership.
what talking you. in malahysia daily dozens of supercar lambo and ferrari porsche bentley get stopped at jpj roadblock because no roadtax insurance.
r u stupid??? only T5 can afford those. Most Malaysians struggling to afford Myvi and Axia.
u r stupid??? malaysian per capita car sales is eight times yes 8x compared to neighbour indonesia, precisely becuase malaysians have strong buying power and cars are relatively affordable here.
The life cycle of this gen is longer? Correct me if I am wrong.
Pls Fast fast come,so old one can drop price
Fast Fast launch in Malaysia,so the old one can drop price faster, don’t invest anything else just invest car better, look at those used car dealer sale those flooding accident used car like new car, resale value very good
Wish the new Honda City facelift came with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) across more variants. Nowadays, BSM is a very useful safety feature, especially with so many motorcycles on Malaysian roads.
The new Toyota Vios G really offers a very complete package in terms of safety and features. Full safety specs, good fuel economy, durable engine, comfortable daily driving, and Toyota reliability. For long-term ownership, the Vios is definitely a strong contender in the B-segment sedan market.
