Prasarana Malaysia (Prasarana) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China’s Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) to strengthen strategic cooperation in enhancing monorail operational capabilities, system reliability, technical expertise and talent development.
In an official release, Prasarana said the collaboration will focus on sharing best practices in system reliability and asset management, operational digitalisation, data analytics, predictive maintenance as well as operational and safety standards. Additionally, workforce competency development through joint training programmes, technical visits and the exchange of expertise are also points of focus.
“The partnership with Chongqing Rail Transit provides opens up the opportunity for Prasarana to expand its access to global best practices in rail system reliability, maintenance strategies and operational efficiency. This knowledge-sharing partnership is crucial to ensuring commuters continue to enjoy safer, smoother and more reliable services,” said Prasarana president and group CEO Amir Hamdan.
He added that as one of the world’s leading monorail operators, CRT would help strengthen the operational ecosystem of the KL Monorail, which has served commuters for more than two decades, by incorporating technological advancements and international best practices.
First tells us how great is the Scomi Malaysian company made the monorail and then try to sell it overseas. Well what makes it better or syok forever.
Scomi engineering went into a venture in india to build their first monorail in mumbai in 2008. this venture was terminated by mumbai metropolitan regional development authority in 2018. this RM1.85 billion project was delayed and plagued by technical issue and spare parts availability issues. Scomi Group eventually went into major financial issues… and so the story goes..
And guess who is the owner of the company and the father – all tax payers money all support the ….

Tolong lah. They operate the widest & longest network of HSR, & their metro lines are among the best in the world. Somebody is obviously still living in the 90s, while China has powered ahead in all areas, incl renewable energy, battery tech, electronics, EV, 5G-6G, quantum computing, fighter jets, hypersonics, satellite & space tech, drones & port operations. They have a virtual monopoly in earth metals & magnets too. Wake up please, katak bawah tempurung, oi.

Tolonglah. Longest and widest doesn’t mean reliable. Powered ahead but unable to make ballpen until late 2017. Powered ahead but still cannot master the skill to mix cement that doesn’t crack with bare hands. Powered ahead while trying to disassemble older tech DUV machine to reverse engineer but end up cannot assemble it back and damaging it in the process. We have not talked about EUV machine yet.
1. Longest and widest does mean reliable as there arent any reports of their HSR breaking down, unlike the malaysian LRT.

3. they already have tbeir own aircraft carriers, space station, satelite nativation network, reusable rockets, stealth fighters. their EVs are unparelleled and set a 499 top speed record faster than any other car in the world. which other country can match their achievements?

monorail have been around for almost 2 decades and yet we malaysian engineering have not mastered the technology to build or maintain it. what a disappointment.
