The Jetour T1 made its Malaysian debut, opened its order books and announced estimated prices (RM143,800 1.5T 2WD, RM153,800 2.0T XWD) at April’s Penang Autoshow before turning up in Malaysian spec at KLIMS last month. All that’s left is to launch the thing with the final prices.
What it is, is a less rugged-looking (or more urban-flavoured, if you will) and slightly smaller version of the T2, which has been doing pretty well for what it is (and a PHEV version is coming!). Like the T2, the T1 should be locally assembled (CKD) at Berjaya Assembly’s Tampoi plant.
The T1’s estimated prices already duck under the T2’s RM156k (with RM2k rebate) final price, which was a shocking RM21k lower than estimated, so we’re expecting a fantabulous final price for the T1 – is a sub-RM130k starting price too much to ask for? Once we’ve the price of this, we can agak-agak the price for i-DM version already. This T1 seems like a fun car to have and also one of the reason I’m holding my 130k budget not going for conventional SUV like e.MAS 7 PHEV just yet until we get to know the actual price of this T1. Let see…

I dunno where you get this number for the fuel consumption.. i have doubt!
btw, Jetour T2 weighs about 1.9 tonnes which is 200kg more than CR-V hence you would expect the fuel consumption to be way higher. CR-V fuel consumption about (non hybrid) .. 7~7.4l/100km which is very good for 1.7tonne vehicle… if you want more luxury, expect more weight since every items you added to the car, may result is more weight. if you want rigidity that allows you to go off road then surely the chasis need to be stiffera nd more weight involved. for whichever vehicle you choose, pay attention to weight if fuel consumption is a factor you would like to be aware of…
japanese engines are only at most 40% efficiency. The chinese has reached 48% efficiency. There’s your answer.
