If you’re heading to the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia next month and loathe at the thought of driving to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and paying for parking, KLIA Ekspres has announced its new Sepang Race Train Pass.
Priced at RM200, the pass provides commuters with return trips for three days during the race weekend of October 2-4, 2026. Trains will take passengers between KL Sentral and KLIA Terminal 2, where a shuttle bus will transfer passengers to SIC.
Train frequency on October 2 and 3 is every 20 minutes from 5am to 1am, while trains on October 4 will operate on time-dependent frequencies. On race day, it is every 20 minutes from 5am to 11am as well as 11pm to 1am, with the frequency increased to every 15 minutes between 11am and 11pm.
If you’re looking to avoid the hassle of dealing with traffic and finding parking, you can get the Sepang Race Train Pass from KLIA Ekspres via the airport rail link’s official website, app or self-service kiosks. The pass has been on sale since September 22, 2026 and will continue to be available until race day.

This is an awesome campaign to boost ridership & potential pumped up revenue by making the most out of this golden opportunity.
Then, it’s not at all too attractive either. I’m not sure if KLIA realizes that there is a direct & more effective competitor called MRT?
It’s so much cheaper with even higher frequencies to ride the train from any part of the city, bypassing KL Sentral, straight to Putrajaya then switch to shuttle or feeder buses. I strongly believe Rapid KL and perhaps the organizer even transport ministry as well as Tourism Malaysia would work hand in hand in providing & ensuring streamlined transfer and transport services to give the best lasting impression to foreign visitors also locals. This is the best time to flaunt the best PR work, why would anyone wanna miss out on this especially to ride on this event to boost the image & feel great experience to every guest for long term tourism growth.
KLIA express still doesn’t get it , or perhaps still dwelling in its old delusion when it used to monopolize the direct serivies to KLIA frm city center, not willing to face the reality where MRT has become a great alternative with more tourists knowing such option to do without much hassle.
feeder bus from mrt putrajaya? did you know how bad the traffic between putrajaya and sepang on daily basis? erl + feeder at klia2 definitely faster lah. direct from airport to the circuit. why so much hate on erl? they have been providing good service after all.
Rakyat menderita, barang semua naik harga, minyak mahal, bil elektrik naik, so on and so fourth…
its targeted at foreign tourists
