The hit-and-run driver of a BYD Seal involved in six-vehicle crash on Jalan Kuching that claimed the life of a five-year-old girl last Saturday (October 10, 2026) will be charged in the magistrate’s court today. This comes after the 24-year-old suspect was arrested soon after being discharged from a private hospital in Damansara and taken to the lock-up at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters yesterday (October 14).
According to NST, the suspect is expected to be charged under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. He also faces two other charges under Section 42(1) for reckless and dangerous driving as well as Section 52(1) for failing to stop after an accident.
As reported previously, the incident occurred at 3.44pm amidst slow-moving traffic on Jalan Kuching when the Seal driven by the suspect struck the rear of a Perodua Bezza. The impact resulted in the girl sustaining severe head injuries and she was pronounced dead at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The collision also involved a motorcycle before the Bezza which allegedly spun into the right lane and struck three other vehicles: a Nissan Almera, a Toyota Alphard and a Perodua Myvi. The victim’s 30-year-old father suffered an injury to his right hand, while the 33-year-old motorcyclist sustained a head injury, with the drivers of the other three vehicles being unharmed.
Why can’t it be a murder charge? Purposely driving unreasonably fast with full knowledge that you could cause a catastrophic accident that could result in death should be recognized as a premeditated motive to kill.
the BYD body did not deform . batery did not catch fire. rear axle not fall off. this is reality crash test proof that ccp cars are good quality and safe.

We dunno if byd suddenly go out of control if using it’s autonomous driving. Cannot be the guy was driving too fast when traffic is always slow on that road.
Watch the dashcam footage available online. If that is BYD’s autonomous driving then BYD is in some serious legal trouble. And you can be sure they will do everything they can to disprove that including suing the driver if he even thinks of using that as a defence.

Why this one some big shot so no murder charge ah? If it can be argued that getting intoxicated with drugs/alcohol satisfies premeditation for murder when obviously judgement is impaired while subsequently under the influence, what excuse does this useless piece of shit have? He’s not drunk or that would have made headlines. So he must have been fully in charge of his faculties, driving like an asshole and he’s killed a poor innocent girl. If that’s not worthy of a murder charge being successfully prosecuted then I don’t know what to say about the AGC.
As an aside, why aren’t these powerful cars age restricted in terms of insurance coverage? As in less than age 25 not covered and between ages of 25 to 30 get slugged with a huge premium because of risk to the insurer? Their performance equals if not betters ICE sports cars from less than a decade ago. An average 24 year old non race licensed driver is ill equipped to handle one. Being able to play GT7 on PS5 and get your S license does not qualify.
Wake up la JPJ. This desire for electrification needs to be balanced by the fact that EVs and the addictive torque they produce need to be treated the same way powerful ICE cars are and for the same reason.
