Overview
The BYD Atto 3 is a five-seat C-segment electric SUV for buyers wanting a choice between a front-wheel-drive entry model and a quicker rear-wheel-drive version. The Mk1 facelift generation launches in 2026, with prices starting from RM125,800. Its two variants have markedly different battery capacities, outputs and claimed range figures.
The 2026 BYD Atto 3 is the facelifted Evo model introduced in Malaysia in June, not a carry-over version. It comes as the Ultra FWD or Premium RWD. The Premium gets 800V architecture, a 510 km range claim and 220 kW DC charging. Both remain five-seat electric SUVs, but battery capacity, motor output and driven wheels differ between the two versions.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should pick the Premium at RM138,800. The RM13,000 gap buys a 74.88 kWh battery, 510 km claimed range, 308 hp and rear-wheel drive, versus the Ultra’s 60.48 kWh pack, 420 km claim, 201 hp and front-wheel drive. It is a substantial mechanical step up rather than merely a trim change. Choose the RM125,800 Ultra if the lower entry price matters more than the extra 90 km of claimed range and stronger motor.

across the range — availability varies by variant
The facelift gives the Atto 3 two genuinely distinct characters under one badge. The Premium’s RWD layout, 308 hp and 510 km claim make it the more interesting version, while the Ultra preserves a lower-cost route in. But the Ultra costs RM5,900 more than the Neta X and RM6,000 more than the Aion Y Plus; the Premium is RM9,800 above the Leapmotor C10. More than 12,000 Atto 3s have been delivered in Malaysia.
