Overview
The Mazda CX-3 is a five-seat B-segment SUV for buyers after a petrol, front-wheel-drive automatic crossover with a choice of 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre power. This DK facelift generation launched in 2018 and starts from RM107,920 in Malaysia. It suits drivers who want a compact SUV rather than a larger family-focused model.
CX-3 in 2026 — what's new
The Mazda CX-3 carries on into 2026 unchanged in Malaysia, despite being discontinued in Japan. It remains a CBU import from Thailand, sold in 1.5 Core, 2.0 Core 2WD and 2.0 High 2WD forms. Its latest Malaysian update brings ADAS and LED lighting across the 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre variants. The range continues with 114 hp 1.5-litre and 154 hp 2.0-litre petrol engines.

Which variant to buy
For most buyers, the 2.0 Core 2WD at RM118,359 is the sensible CX-3: it adds 40 hp over the RM107,920 1.5 Core while retaining front-wheel drive, an automatic gearbox and five seats. The 2.0 High 2WD costs RM131,559. On paper, the RM13,200 gap buys trim rather than a different mechanical package, as both 2.0 variants use the 154 hp engine. Check the High’s equipment list before stretching to it.

Verdict
The CX-3 is an established 2018-generation B-segment SUV that remains available as a Thai-built import, with LED lighting and ADAS across the range. Its entry price is close to the GAC GS3, Omoda Jaecoo J5 and Mitsubishi Xforce, but far above the Perodua Ativa and Aruz. The 2.0 Core makes the strongest case within the range because it brings 154 hp without the High’s RM13,200 step up.

Mazda CX-3 FAQ
How much is the Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia?

Which Mazda CX-3 variant should I buy?
