Aruz in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Aruz continues as the 1.5 X and 1.5 AV, both with 1,496 cc petrol power, 101 hp, an automatic gearbox, rear-wheel drive and seven seats. September brings a RM4,000 price reduction across the range, alongside an additional RM4,000 Malaysia Day rebate. The latest hardware refresh remains the 2025 update, which adds a matte-black grille, revised interior trim and alloy wheels, while Vintage Brown replaces Electric Blue.
Which variant to buy
Most buyers should take the RM68,900 1.5 X. It has the same 1,496 cc, 101 hp petrol engine, automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive and seven-seat layout as the RM73,900 1.5 AV, leaving a RM5,000 saving for the essentials. Choose the AV only after checking that its trim and equipment differences matter to you. On paper, the extra spend does not buy additional power, a different drivetrain or more seats.
Verdict
The Aruz makes a straightforward case for buyers who specifically need seven seats and prefer rear-wheel drive. Its 101 hp 1.5-litre petrol powertrain is shared across both trims, so the cheaper X is the rational entry point. It costs more than the RM62,500 Ativa, but undercuts the RM69,999 QV-E and RM76,100 Traz. The deciding question is simple: do you need the third row?
