VIDEO: BMW M2 Coupe in the new Need For Speed

Revealed for the real world just last week, the new BMW M2 Coupe will soon make its virtual reality debut in the new Need For Speed video game, come November 3.

For now, only Xbox One and Playstation 4 gamers will get to drive and customise the M2, alongside a few other iconic M models from the brand’s past, including the E30 M3 Evolution II, the E46 M3, the E92 M3, and the current M4 Coupe – yes, they’re all joining the party. The PC version of the game will be out in the first quarter of 2016.

The BMW M2 Coupe is a spiritual successor to the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. It is powered by a 3.0 litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 370 hp and 465 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch transmission.

In the real world, the BMW M2 can perform its century sprint in 4.3 seconds, but as you should already know, this BMW isn’t all about top speeds and 0-100 km/h dashes – this is one for drivers to relish, with BMW even specifically highlighting in its official press materials that the M2 has been “track ability tested” at the Nurburgring circuit for this very purpose.
