BYD Seal 6 in Malaysia gains Sage Green paint colour

BYD has announced a new exterior paint colour, Sage Green for the Seal 6 electric sedan that was launched last September.

Priced from RM100,000 at launch, the Seal 6 is sold in Malaysia in two variants; the base Dynamic, and the Premium priced at RM115,800. The new exterior colour joins the existing three exterior colours, which are Arctic White, Harbour Grey, and Misty Blue.

Measuring 4,720 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the Seal 6 is a C-segment sedan that is slightly shorter and narrower, but taller than the BYD Seal, which measures 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,460 mm tall with a 2,920 mm wheelbase.

Energy is stored in a 56.64 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for both variants of the Seal 6, which offers 410 km of range (WLTP) despite different motor outputs; the Dynamic is rated for 129 PS and 220 Nm, while the Premium is claimed to outputs 218 PS and 330 Nm.

Both take up to 100 kW of DC charging, which takes 23 minutes for a 30-80% recharge, while 6.67 kW AC charging and 3.7 kW V2L power supply also feature.

Inside, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration features, with voice command supported for commands made in English, Malay, Cantonese and Mandarin. Audio output features six speakers in the Dynamic, stepping up to eight speakers in the Premium.

Driving assistance systems in the Seal 6 consists of AEB, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and front collision warning. The Seal 6 also gets six airbags, front parking sensors, a 360-degree view monitor and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
