The Malaysian government is looking to further refine the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) to ensure that the subsidies are more targeted, said economy minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, reported The Star.
This is aimed at strengthening controls against the leakage of subsidised fuel, without disrupting business operations or supply chains, Akmal Nasrullah said.
“The National Economic Action Council meeting today examined proposals to improve SKDS, presented by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, to align diesel subsidy quotas. The proposal will be implemented in a balanced manner to tighten controls against leakage while safeguarding business operations and supply chains,” the economy minister said.
Based on MySubsidi data as of April 9, more than 368,000 vehicles have been registered under SKDS, including more than 375,500 goods transport vehicles and around 23,000 public transport vehicles, he said.
Earlier this month, the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) was expanded to goods transport operators in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. Companies in the goods transport sector can apply to be part of the SKDS scheme via the MySubsidi portal, and the system covers 23 categories of goods transport vehicles, as in Peninsular Malaysia.

Ko ni bangang kan… Skolah mane dulu nih?? Tolong la g potong telo tu… Keturunan ko ni bole bawak bala kat dunia
I honestly found the loophole in the first month when they start this SKDS. I was hoping they make an immediate improvement on the system. But at this point i think they purposely left the loophole for someone to profit from it.
