Terengganu PAS Youth defends motorcycle gatherings

In a social media statement, the Marang, Terengganu division of PAS (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia, Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party) came out to defend motorcycle gatherings and activities organised by the political party. Saying that such activities or “convoys” encourage discipline, PAS says the convoys require participants to follow the rules.

These include following instructions and maintaining a safe distance, obeying marshals and waiting for other participants, and entering and leaving venues in an orderly and disciplined manner. PAY says this is how discipline is instilled in riders.

The statement was in reference to PAS’ recent “Himpit 2026” convoy which drew ire from road users and online for being insensitive over the global energy crisis as well as causing congestion and chaos on the roads. Instead, PAS Youth says the convoy was organised to “train young people to move and function as a single team.”
