Perodua’s focus at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) may have been the, um, intriguing C2 Concept, but it has also shown derivatives of its current models at its stand. One of these is a QV-E EV festooned with a carbon fibre-print bodykit called the G+ Edition.
Now, you can’t buy this car – at least, not yet. However, the G in its name could only stand for GearUp, the national carmaker’s successful accessories brand. Perhaps we’ll see these addenda being offered for the company’s first fully in-house-developed model in the near future.
Anyway, on to the car itself. If you thought the standard QV-E looked sporty enough, you haven’t clapped eyes on the G+ Edition, which is very aggressive. The car’s slim lower grille with hexagonal inserts has been replaced by a much larger mesh-covered piece with multiple horizontal and vertical slats, joined by a sizeable splitter that even has a “forged carbon” inlay within it.
There are also deeper side skirts and a massive, rather heavy-looking diffuser-like rear valance, again with the fake forged carbon. Completing the look are the twin tailgate spoilers and some wheel arch extensions that make the stock 18-inch aero wheels – which are plenty big enough on the regular QV-E – appear lost within them. There’s a carbon wrap on the bonnet and mirrors, too.
Inside, the G+ Edition gains GearUp’s typical black and red leather seat covers, here featuring almost chequered flag-like perforations forming a centre strip. New floor mats with G+ branding and red borders help jazz up the QV-E’s rather underwhelming interior. The display car also serves as test bed for Dolby Atmos surround sound integration, although the six speakers remain the same as before.
As a recap, the QV-E is powered by a single front motor producing 204 PS (150 kW) and 285 Nm of torque, enabling it to get from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 165 km/h. A 52.5 kWh LFP battery delivers a range of 370 km on the WLTP cycle.
As for charging, the QV-E supports up to 60 kW of DC fast charging, topping up the battery from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes. It also accepts up to 6.6 kW of AC charging for a full charge in eight hours. Priced at RM80,000, the car can only be purchased with a leased battery that costs RM275 per month on a nine-year contract.

Lipstick on a pig
Toyota Urban Cruiser can smoke QV-E G+ anytime
it wouldn’t be a perodua without ridiculous and pointless accessories haha
learning from proton
tak lama lg perodua akan bg batt free sbb kereta ni tak laku, ko percayala cakap aku hahaha
Very nice and aggresive
i think no need gearup accessories but closedown package is more preferable
P2 got balls to launch another EV failure. The whole automotive industry is laughing what is P2 thinking? Or maybe P2 management no capacity to think in first place. Don’t worry P2 CEO laugh off RM800m failure like its nothing. If he work in any other company with KPI and accountability, He would be fired within 1 week on the job since he no common sense and competence at all. Failure at best. PERODUA GAGAL HISAP TAHI ANJING
Orang negative bercakap hanya negative, saperti lalat hanya mencari tahi, memang akan jumpa. Madam mana negara nak. maju kalau setiap usaha baik. di perlekehkan
diamlah bodo, perodua rebadge daihaitsu selama hidupnya macam mana nak progress?? EV pun gagal teruk, bazir 800 juta tak cukup?? P2 fan gays memang bodo pukimak
Looking at the sales figure, suppliers for this car really rugi besar, with the R&D, mould and equipment invested. Gear-up suppliers lagi lah – must be cursing now.
wats the point?
If they do away with battery leasing sh*t and adjust the price a bit, pretty sure can sell…
no other car company in the world dare to do ah long business under the guise of batery rental service
Well, NIO manage to did that in China but with huge investment in battery swapping stations facility lah, unlike Perodua. It’s a really legit business model because you don’t have to really mind the battery charging cost and battery life degradation….
Nope…battery charging cost is surely there but charge as monthly rental. No such thing as free juice.
It saves a lot of time by not waiting for the battery to be charge.
for 70k price we can buy excellent mainland EV emas5 , developed by skillful mandarin-educated engineers, backed by rocksolid aftersales service by Proton,or
or for extra RM10k more can choose buy the new perodua QEV engineered by uuim/uitm/mara/mrsm graduates, and comes without battery. battery not included.
Peroscammer! try to scam more LALA jiaojiao man to buy and modify
Hahahahaha
scrap je lah, tak boleh jalan battery kena sewa
Yes True, we never denied the car is ugly. The car is indeed cantik gila. But costing babe.
Punya mahal gila and still Government protect you guys. Fairlah goverment gov job to protect product buatan Malaysia. But please lah…
We consider Proton or Perodua because of the costing and indeed nowadays buatan Malaysia is Performing well. But again mahal gila costing, mana nak boleh beli…i am not into any brand here. Saya tak nak talk negative about any brand here. Just asking you guys to justify people’s feeling’s and their opinion. Kurangkan lah harga rm40 ribu and letak battery leasing bulan bulan. atau option 2 iaitu including semua costing with battery jadikan harga kereta rm65k. This are more logic. Think again lah…please..
I am a supporting you guys..
Still using Proton Waja MMC and Perodua Bezza. Kita support you guys..now your guys turn to support us back Malaysian. Thank you. Harap tak kena kecam.
Kena kecam la, abam! RM40k tu cekup dari mana harga? Everyone is in business to make money. RM40k rasanya breakeven volume sure unrealistic la abammmm…. Iriz tu breakeven volume 250k units, cost to develop (engine zero cost sebab pakai CamPro sedia ada) RM800k. Record shows sampai now (discontinued production in 2025) tak sampai 100k unit pun dijual sejak pelancaran 2014 kalau tak silap.
Masalah QV-E ni sebenarnya P2 kena tipu dengan Daihatsu and Toyota. Sebelum ni, Toyota anti EV dan pro hydrogen. So takda basis nak bagi donor model kepada P2. Alih alih, 3 EV dia launch in Malaysia, termasuk rebadge Suzuki sebijik. Kalau dia bagi P2 SUV India tu habis cerita… takyah pergi Magna Steyr to develop from ground up.
To remove worry of the kits to be outdated P2 will package it like the battery subscription. If u dont pay, they will come and remove the kits.
Liptstick on a butthole
Most useless EV in the universe! Prodaihatsu fan gays will get triggered at the truth. This what happens when u die die support rebadge rubbish Daihatsu your whole life.
P2 & co dares to field this car for this year 2026 Merdeka Race at sepang track?
Remove the battery rental thing. The car will sell like hot cakes.
Even RM80k with battery included this car will still not gonna sell. The value is just overprice with average level offerings. Overall, eMas 5 is more worthy in terms of features, spec, technology and value for money but still cheaper than this crap with no battery leasing charge.
Now bodykit also can rent?
All in all, it was a bad lesson for Perodua.
1. The car itself will never be a volume seller like other Peroduas. Interior too small for the price. Why bother design something so off brand? Create a cheaper Kelisa EV. Will interest way more people.
2. That battery lease can only work if the car is really, really cheap. This car is certainly not.
3. On the plus side, the car actually has its look going for it. They could’ve market it like a cheap C-HR EV. With the usual Gear UpBeng bodykit like this.
What the heck is this syiok sendiri GearUp shit on this failure?
